We Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyon are Roman Catholic women called by God to live the charismthe gift we are called to live in the Church and world of unifying and inclusive love through a life of personal and communal prayer, community living, and loving service, especially to and with the poor and marginalized.
We respond to this call through life-long canonical vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. The celebration of vows is proceeded by years of discernment and formation, and are sustained throughout life through prayer, community life, and annual retreats and ongoing formation.
We live our vocation in collaboration with a rich diversity of lay partners through our ministries and in the quality of our presence and relationships with each other, the dear neighborthis comes from the foundational documents of our Congregation written by Fr. Jean-Pierre Médaille S.J., and all of creation.

Our charism: To love God and neighbor without distinction and thus to help bring about the unity of neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God.
